CCL chemokines belong to the SCYA family of cytokines, these cytokines consist of a CC motif.

Chemokines of the CC subfamily usually contain four cysteines (C4-CC chemokines), but a small number of CC chemokines possess six cysteines (C6-CC chemokines).
