Biological Activity:
The activity was measured by the ability of inhibit chymotrypsin cleavage of a fluorogenic peptide substrate, and the calulated ED50 was found to be < 6nM
 
Endotoxin:
Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method.
Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/µg(1EU/µg).

 
Presentation:
Recombinant human alpha 1 antichymotrypsin(AACT) is lyophilized  from 0.2 μm filtered PBS solution,  pH7.2 ,  5% Trehalose.

              
Reconstitution:
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.

 
Storage:
Recombinant Human alpha 1 antichymotrypsin (AACT) can be stored in working aliquots at 2° - 8° C for one month, or at -20°C to -70°C for twelve months.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

alpha 1 antichymotrypsin

α1-ACT is a glycoprotein of ∼50–60-kDa mass, which shares 42% sequence homology with the archetypal serpin member α1-antitrypsin (serpin A1). α1-ACT, like most inhibitory serpins, forms enzymatically inactive and irreversible stoichiometric complexes with its classical chymotrypsin-like target proteinases, including neutrophil cathepsin G, mast cell chymase, or pancreatic chymotrypsin. Binding of the substrate to the reactive center loop of α1-ACT leads to irreversible protease inhibition and a cleaved C- terminal fragment of α1-ACT (post-complex fragment).
