Molecular weight:

Recombinant human ADAM12(meltrin alpha) is a protein consisting of 490 amino acid residue subunits,due to glycosylation migrates as an approximately as 65kDa (proprotein),23kDa (propeptide) and 46kDa (mature form) band protein on reduced SDS-PAGE.


 
Purity:
>95%, as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC
 
Biological activity:
The activity was tested by the ability of recombinant human ADAM 12 to cleave recombinant human IGFBP3
 
Endotoxin:
Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method.
Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/µg(1EU/µg).

 
Presentation:
Recombinant Human ADAM12 is lyophilized  from 0.2 μm filtered PBS solution,  pH7.2 ,  5% Trehalose.

              
Reconstitution:
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.

 
Storage:
Recombinant ADAM12 can be stored in working aliquots at 2° - 8° C for one month, or at -20°C to -70°C for twelve months.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

This product is for research purposes only.It may not be used for therapeutics or diagnostic purposes.

 

ADAM12

ADAM-12 is a key member of a large (> 33 members) ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease) family of proteins capable of performing a number of biological functions, including proteolysis, regulation of growth factor availability, cell–cell and cell–matrix adhesion, cell signaling, and ectodomain shedding. ADAM-12 regulates growth factor bioavailability by cleaving and shedding heparin-binding EGF (HB-EGF) , insulin-like growth factor binding protein 3 (IGFBP-3), and IGFBP-5 from their membrane-anchored forms . ADAM-12 cleaves various extracellular matrix proteins including gelatin, type IV collagen, and fibronectin and regulates cell–cell and cell– extracellular matrix contacts through interactions with cell surface receptors, integrins, and syndecans
