Optimized DNA sequence  encoding extracellular domain of human CD66b including a C-terminal 6His tag was expressed in HEK293 cells.

Molecular weight:

Recombinant human CD66b (CEACAM8) is a monomer protein consisting of 405 amino acid residue subunits,  due to glycosylation migrates as an approximately 65-85 kDa protein on SDS-PAGE.

Biological Activity:
The activity was tested by immobilized recombinant CD66a (10ug/ml) ability to bind recombinant human CD66b in functional ELISA.

Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method.
Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/µg(1EU/µg).

Recombinant human CD66b (CEACAM-8) is supplied as a 0.2 μm filtered PBS solution,  pH7.2 .

Recombinant human CD66b, as supplied, can be stored in working aliquots at 2° - 8° C for one month, or at -20°C to -70°C for twelve months.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

CEACAM6 (CD66c) and CEACAM8 (CD66b) are cell-adhesion proteins onneutrophils that belong to the human carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA)family. CEACAM6 reveals homophilic adhesion and heterophilic adhesionto other CEACAM family antigens including CEACAM8, CEACAM1, and CEA,whereas CEACAM8 exhibits only heterophilic adhesion to CEACAM6. ach CEACAM protein consists of several domains similar to theimmunoglobulin (Ig) V or C domains: one NH2- terminalIgV-like domain (N- domain) of 108 amino acids and zero to six IgC2- likedomains (A- and B- domains) followed by a glycolipid membrane anchor ora transmembrane-spanning region with a cytoplasmic tail. The N-domains of CEACAM familyproteins reveal sequence similarity with 70 90% identity to eachother. CEA, CEACAM1, and CEACAM6 exhibit homophilic adhesion and heterophilic adhesion amongst them.Conversely, CEACAM8 binds only CEACAM6 relatively strongly comparedwith the binding activities of the other CEACAM members without showing homophilic-adhesion activity.
