Source:
Polyclonal GSK-3 beta  antibody was produced from sera of mice  immunized with synthetic protein containing GSK-3 beta antigenic determinants.

Purification:

Serum IgG fraction was purified by Protein G affinity chromatography.

 
Presentation:
Lyophilized from sterile filtered PBS solution at a concentration of 1mg/ml.
 
Reconstitution:
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers
 
Storage:
The lyophilized antibody is stable for at least 1 year  from date of receipt at -20° C.
Upon reconstitution, this antibody can be stored in working aliquots at 2° - 8° C for one month, or at -20° C for six months without detectable loss of activity.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

GSK-3 beta

GSK-3 has been identified as a target of Akt that plays a role in the regulation of apoptosis in a variety of normal and transformed cell types including muscle cells, hepatocytes, neurons, and colon cancer cells. Akt-dependent phosphorylation of GSK-3 causes its inactivation, blocking downstream proapoptotic pathways, e.g., caspase and -catenin signaling. Akt-dependent regulation of GSK-3 activity contributes to the growth and hypertrophy of skeletal and cardiac muscle and inhibits apoptosis in vascular smooth muscle
