Molecular weight:

Recombinant CD89 is a monomer protein consisting of 217 amino acid residue subunits,  due to glycosylation migrates as an approximately 45-50 kDa protein on SDS-PAGE.


 
Purity:
>97%, as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC

 
Biological Activity:
The activity was tested by immobilized recombinant CD89 (10ug/ml) ability to bind human IgA in functional ELISA.

 
Endotoxin:
Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method.
Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/µg(1EU/µg).

 
Presentation:
Recombinant CD89 is supplied as a 0.2 μm filtered PBS solution,  pH7.2 .

              
Reconstitution:
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.

              
Storage:
Recombinant CD89, as supplied, can be stored in working aliquots at 2° - 8° C for one month, or at -20°C to -70°C for twelve months.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

CD89

FcRI/CD89 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed at the surface of myeloid cells and member of the Ig superfamily. CD89 binds both IgA1 and IgA2 with similar affinity. The site of interaction between CD89 and IgA was identified in the first extracellular domain of CD89 and the C2/C3 junction of IgA. CD89 is constitutively expressed as a 50- to 70-kDa protein on neutrophils and monocytes/macrophages, or as a 70- to 100-kDa glycoprotein on eosinophils due to increased glycosylation. CD89 is also expressed on Kupffer cells in the liver, where it was suggested to provide a second line of defense. At the cell surface, CD89 is associated with the FcR - chain through the charged arginin residue within its transmembrane domain.
